Ram Gopal Varma Claims Sukhwinder Composed 'Jai Ho,' But Singer Denies It, Varma recounts a 2008 meeting during *Yuvvraaj* where Subhash Ghai scolded late-arriving Rahman, who then told Sukhwinder to complete the tune and later sold it to *Slumdog Millionaire*'s Danny Boyle. Sukhwinder has repeatedly denied composing it, insisting in 2024 that Rahman created the music and he only sang a quick demo after Gulzar's lyrics. Ghai confirms passing the 'too soft' song to Boyle, where it won Best Original Song at the 2009 Oscars, crediting Rahman for music, Gulzar for lyrics, and Sukhwinder as singer.
