According to a local tourist guide, Albert Pde, the couple was last seen near Weisawdong falls, accompanied by three unknown men. Raja's body was tragically recovered from a gorge on June 2nd. Sonam is still missing, and the Meghalaya state government is dedicating significant resources to the search operation. The challenging terrain, continuous rainfall, and poor visibility are making the search incredibly difficult. The guide mentioned that he had offered his services to the couple the day before, but they declined and hired another guide.
